Abstract
The Iowa 1997-98 Adult Household Survey of Substance Use and Treatment Needs was based on a stratified random sampling of all Iowa households that could be reached by telephone. Interviewers at the University of Northern Iowa's Center for Social and Behavioral Research. The main goals of the study were to develop estimates of the substance use and treatment needs of adult Iowans.
