Abstract
The Iowa Library Commission was created by an act of the Twenty-eighth General Assembly of the State of Iowa, March 20, 1900, and this law was amended very materially by the Twenty-ninth General Assembly, in the transfer of the Free Traveling Library of Iowa to the Commission. The purpose for which the Iowa Library Commission was created is to promote the establishment and efficiency of public libraries in Iowa, and to encourage the circulation and reading of good books.
