Abstract

The analysis is intended to determine the extent to which implementation of the recommendations of the Governor 1s Economy Committee will improve the operations of the Purchasing Division to the standard prescribed in the U.S. G.A.O. guidelines. These guidelines have been endorsed by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. The report was also intended to recommend legislative action with respect to these recommendations and the operations of the Purchasing Division. Designed to be brief, the study took the form of a limited evaluation. The study focused primarily on statutory provisions and departmental rules. The Program Evaluation Team relied heavily on interviews, previously prepared documentation, and the working papers.
