Abstract

The current criticism against the statistics on juvenile delinquency it has become quite clear that youthful offenses remain a serious problem in the nation. Limited as the facts may be it behooves all persons concerned to examine more carefully the statistics which are available in order to obtain a better understanding of what the figures do show, what they mean and what they imply for the police, the courts, for correctional workers, and the public.
