In accordance with the Hospital Survey and Construction Act, Public Law 725, 79th Congress, a state wide inventory of existing hospital and public health facilities has been completed. This information is presented in the Report of Hospital and Public Health Resources in Iowa, Iowa State Department of Health. Included in the Report is statistical data on the hospital and public health facilities and services, professional personnel and related resources. The following is the thirteenth revision of the Iowa Hospital Plan for construction of hospitals and other health facilities. Based upon current inventory and survey data, the proposal provides suitable and adequate statewide hospital and related health facilities reasonably and realistically accessible to all residents of Iowa. The Plan reflects the findings from inventory and survey data of approximately 200 hospitals, 4,200 doctors' offices (MD.,, D.O. and D.D.S.), 50 major industries and 1,000 care institutions.
