Abstract

Community occupational survey is an organized method of obtaining information concerning the local labor market area. It indicates the number and kinds of jobs in the area, employment opportunities and facts relative to the industrial composition of the labor force. For a number of years the Iowa Employment Security Commission has recognized a need for additional labor market information. This information is exceptionally desirable in a rapidly growing industrial area such as Des Moines.
