Abstract

This text is the product of a national symposium convened in Columbus, Ohio, on March 1-2, 1989. The symposium was sponsored by the North Central Region Research Committee-149; the North Central Region Research Committee-Ill; the Farm Foundation; the Soil Conservation Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The contributions of these sponsors are greatly appreciated. The primary objective of the symposium was to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of research findings on problems associated with implementing the Conservation Title of the Food Security Act of 1985. Papers were commissioned from a variety of regions in the United States and by researchers from various disciplines.
