Abstract
The task force took a hands-on approach as we worked toward a comprehensive child care strategy for Iowa. Our group included service providers, nonprofit organizations, elected officials and members of industry from around the state. We held town hall meetings to hear directly from child care providers, families, employers and members of the child care workforce. The stories we heard are captured between the lines of this report – from parents struggling with waitlists to child care providers overly burdened with paperwork and facing staff shortages.
