Abstract
Librarians play an important role in developing student literacy. Acknowledge National Librarian Day with this middle school English activity, Numbers That Tell a Story, which helps students develop an informed opinion by analyzing and comparing data. They will use the State Facts for Students data tool to explore data about their state and work in small groups to share opinions on how the population has changed over time to boost discussion skills.
