Abstract
United Nations, in a surprisingly swift series of events entered a new era of its history. With a seldom seen speed, over twenty years of tension concerning the admission of the People's Republic of China was resolved. Only one week after debate had formally opened on the issue for the twenty-first time, the Communist government of China was declared the only representative of the Chinese people to that world assembly.
