Abstract
Tl1e Iowa Library Information Teletype Exchange (I-LITE) 1s a program of the State Library Commission of Iowa. The I-LITE network began 1n the Fall of 1969 with eleven libraries i~terconnected by TWX teletype machines. The network has grown to include the State Library, ten public libraries offering regional service to every resident in the state of Iowa, a public library union file of monograph holdings, seven academic libraries offering service to small private college libraries in Iowa, a university resource center, and a graduate library school reference service. This manual is specifically designed to facilitate the use of this system in participating libraries.
