Abstract
The state of Iowa has implemented a large array of programs to improve the environmental performance of agriculture. These initiatives, while continuing Iowa's traditionally strong efforts in soil conservation have also focused on reducing the effects of nutrients, pesticides and sediment and animals waste on surface water and groundwater quality.
