Abstract

This handbook is a revision of four handbooks prepared or revised by the Department, assisted by committees of practitioners, from 1973 through 1980. The four were Plan for Progress in the Media Center, Facilities, 1973; Plan for Progress in the Media Center,District andAEA, 1976; Plan for Progress in the Media Center, K-6, Revised, 1979, and Plan for Progress in the Library Media Center, 7-12 Revised, 1980. Plan for Progress in the Library Media Center, PK-12 has been developed by a committee including library media specialists at building, district and AEA levels, a school teacher, a school administrator and the building consultant from the Department of Education, who worked with editor Betty Jo Buckingham, library media consultant for the Department. Names and addresses of the committee are listed following this preface. All committee members participated in deciding the content. Most were writers of one or more sections and all were readers.
