Abstract
The Iowa Department of Public Health, Perinatal Hepatitis B Program works to prevent transmission of hepatitis B infection from mothers to infants by conducting parent and health care provider education, case management of mothers and babies, distribution of hepatitis B vaccine and hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG), and laboratory testing.
