Abstract

This is vol. XXI, no. 1, November 1966 issue of the University of Iowa Studies in Natural History. This document contains information on the "Driftless Area" which is known the world over because it is completely surrounded by glaciated territory and apparently was not covered by continental glaciation during the Pleistocene epoch. Topics included are: description of the area, stratigraphy, physiography, drainage, climate, soils and Pleistocene geology. A catalogue of vascular plants, a statistical summary, a bibliography and an index to families and genera are also included.
