Virtually all of the residents of Grundy County rely on groundwater as the source of their drinking water. In addition, livestock, agriculture, and industries all primarily utilize groundwater. Estimated use of groundwater in the county is approximately 1.3 billion gallons per year. The users of groundwater in the county draw their supplies from several different geologic sources.
