Abstract
This report presents the results of a study of sixteen existing boiler plants in Iowa. The study investigated the feasibility of using excess steam capacity from existing plants to provide energy for new grain ethanol plants or other appropriate applications. The report indicates that co-utilization of steam would be feasible for five of the plants. For the remaining plants construction of new coal-fired boilers would be more economically feasible than co-utilization. The report was prepared by the undersigned of Brown Engineering Comp any and Mr. Arthur DeWit of DeWild Grant Reckert and Associates Company, assisted by other staff members.
