Abstract

This project pertains to the construction of a four-lane, controlled access improvement oflowa Highway 5 in Polk and Warren counties, south of the Des Moines metropolitan area. The project extends from Interstate 35 southwest of Des Moines approximately 17.5 kilometers ( 10.8 miles) easterly to a tie-in with the relocated U.S. Highway 65 eastern beltway at the interchange with U.S. Highway 65/69 south of Des Moines.
