Abstract
This guide was developed to assist producers, engineers, consultants and the DNR staff to understand the open feedlot construction permit process. Too many times applicants have been frustrated by long delays and a feeling of being “left in the dark.” Our goal is to foster communication between the involved parties and continually improve the permitting process. This manual outlines a new “fast track” open feedlot construction permit. It contains the information needed to progress through the new permit process, including flow charts, detailed descriptions of the steps in the process, and required forms and instructions. If at any time there are questions about the process, please contact the DNR Animal Feeding Operations.
