Our number of new complaints filed remained constant with the previous year. For the fourth year in a row we resolved more cases than we received, which allowed us to further reduce our case inventory.
Employment complaints continued to be the largest area of complaints received, 86.3%. Disability is the most-frequently named basis, or reason, for discrimination. It was named in 38% of the year's newly-filed complaints. This was followed by sex, 36.7%, and race, 24%.
However, in the housing complaints, race was the most-frequently named basis, 46%, followed by disability, 31% and familial status, 26.5%.
