Funding Sources
The Commission's FY 90 total budget was $1,468,730, with funds coming from
the Iowa general fund, as appropriated by the Legislature, and from contracts
with federal agencies.
From the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC), the Commission received a total of $346,483 under its contracts
for the investigation of cross-filed employment complaints.
The Commission received a total of $189,900 from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for three different programs. The Type
I Grant of $95,900 was for the investigation of cross-filed housing complaints.
Type II Grant funds of $34,705 were expended for the Fair Housing Awareness
Project (see page 16) [see fair
housing]. Type II Grant funds of $59,295
were expended towards the development of a housing discrimination computer
expert system (see page 17) [see expert
system].
