The total
funding for the Commission for FY 1998 was $2,091,541. The dollars
came from the Iowa General Fund, as appropriated by the legislature,
from contracts and grants from federal agencies, and from reimbursements
for copying and miscellaneous costs.
From the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Commission
received $638,200 under its contract for the investigation of
cross-filed employment complaints.
The Commission received a total of $270,350 from the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for two programs. The contract
for complaint processing included $ 218,352 for the investigation
of cross-filed complaints and for staff training. The Commission
also received $51,998 in FHIP funds for the completion of a fair
housing mortgage lending grant.
