CONCILIATION
Conciliation is a process offered to Respondents to obtain voluntary compliance with the Iowa Civil Rights Act. Contrary to staff investigators, conciliators negotiating probable cause cases are advocates and use conference, conciliation and persuasion to redress the violation of the Iowa Civil Rights Act.
FY 1983 witnessed the conciliation inventory increase from a beginning total of sixteen (16) cases to an ending total of twnety-eight (28) cases.
Unsuccessful conciliation cases are considered by the Commission for public hearing.
