DOLLARS RETURNED TO IOWANS

As it has been explained, at each stage of the Commission's compliance process, it is possible that a case may be resolved. Case resolution always involves remedial action. Oftentimes, remedial action means financial returns to persons alleging discrimination. The total dollars returned to Iowans in any fiscal year is measured by total annualized benefits.

Chart 6 demonstrates the monthly amount of dollars returned to Iowans deprived of earnings due to discriminatory or alleged discriminatory action against them. The FY 1980 Total Annualized Benefits totaled more than Three Quarters of a Million Dollars ($786,050.42).
