DOLLARS RETURNED TO IOWANS

As it has been explained, at each stage of the Commission's compliance process, it is possible that a case may be resolved. Case resolution always involves remedial action. Often times remedial action means financial returns for persons alleging discrimination. The total dollars returned to Iowans in any fiscal year is measured by total annualized benefits.
Chart 6 demonstrates the monthly amount dollars returned to Iowans deprived of earnings due to discrimination or alleged discriminatory action against them. The FY 1981 Total Annualized Benefits totaled more than Half of a Million Dollars ($650,795.67).
