ADVOCACY AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION DIVISION

The Commission concluded its fair housing testing and outreach project in January, 1986. The project included conducting housing audits and tests, and providing technical assistance, educational workshops and outreach activities to the public and the real estate industry.

The Commission's Contract Compliance and State Government Affirmative Action responsibilities were being phased out during fiscal year 1986. Senate File 2175 assigned contract compliance to the new Office of Management and State Government Affirmative Action to the Department of Personnel.

To provide various outreach activities to the public continued to be the division's primary thrust for the prevention of discrimination in Iowa. Chart 1 is a summary of the division's outreach activities during FY 1986.
