A program entitled "For All the Right Reasons: Multifamily Housing Accessibility" will be held at the dates, times, and locations shown below.
The purpose of the program is to inform the public about the issues of accessible multifamily housing, and will be of particular interest to persons with disabilities, service providers, builders, developers, and architects. Federal law requires that multifamily housing, generally housing with four or more units and built for occupancy since March 1991, must have seven design features that make the building and units accessible for persons with disabilities.
Staff from the Iowa Civil Rights Commission in Des Moines will present this program. The local commission in the town in which it is presented is a co-sponsor of the program.
The meeting locations are accessible to persons with disabilities. If a sign language interpreter is needed by someone attending the meeting, please call 515-281-8086 at least two weeks in advance. Relay Iowa calls will be accepted.
This program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
