Agency Funding

 

 

The Commission's FY 97 total amount of funding was $2,124,815. The dollars came from the Iowa General Fund, as appropriated by the legislature, from contracts and grants from federal agencies, and reimbursements for copying and miscellaneous costs.

From the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Commission received $665,283 under its contract for the investigation of cross-filed employment complaints. This represents an increase of $143,689 of funds earned for resolving employment complaints.

The Commission received a total of $294,899 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for two different programs. The contributions, incentive and training program included $147,751 for the investigation of cross-filed housing complaints and for staff training. The Commission also received $111,998 in FHIP funds for a fair housing mortgage lending grant.
